I'm downloading a "retail" version, so it should be all good. Despite the annoying guy interupting every song twice, this album is sick. This is gonna be a 4.

If a viking ever heard you say that, they would join with the pirates in plundering your sorry butt
Josh why do you continually disappoint me?

As far as culture themes go in metal, if it's not Celtic or some kind of Northern Germanic style folk, I don't care for it. so if they're dressed in chainmail and have at least 2 tower shields in their van and come from a germanic tribe you like the band? =]

^^^Uhh, but incomprehensible death-growls are okay? No one seems to complain about those. I would (cause I generally can't stand them) but I'd rather not deal with all the flamage. This dude may sound funny, but he sells the pirate deal, and you can actually understand 90% of what he's saying.
"When I come back from a mighty quest I have no need for sleep or rest, I head to a tavern for a drink and get so drunk I cannot think, a wench by my side and a jug of mead, these are the things that I most need so I sit back and sing this song and drink and party all night long!"

No you're right Josh, comprehension isn't the determining factor. But it helps. Then again, everyone knows vocals are usually the least important factor when it comes to this type of music, so whereas most death growls are either annoying or tolerable to me, they hardly ever actually add anything to the music, i.e. Anata, Gorod, ect. I would like those bands just as much if all the song were entirely instrumental. But every now and then the vocals add something to the music. Or if not the vocals, the lyrics. See Opeth, Tool, Disillusion, Wintersun. I like the singer's style, pirate drop kick murphy or not, and I love their lyrics. It adds to the music. For me ;)

Completely agree. The vocals definately help make this cd the amazingly fun experience it is.
That and the accordion-like keyboard sound
this pirate version of the Dropkick Murphys vocalist.
The vocalist from Dropkick Murphys is horrible. I don't really think this bands vocalist would fit in with many other bands, but it works well with this one.

I'm not tryin to hate on you Josh, I know exactly how you feel. Everybody seems to love Protest the Hero; I rather enjoy their sound, their very talented musicians with a lot of original material. But I wanna kill myself every time their lead singer opens his mouth. I'd take this guy over that guy any day. So I can see where you're coming from lol

Gotta agree with that^^ I can`t stand the PTH guy either. Which is sad cause the band is pretty talented.
