Yeah, he is a good guitarist. Does anyone know who they've got (if anyone) to replace Alexander?
|
| |
Alexander is a gun as well! Still waiting for the bios on the site to be updated :upset: who is it gonna be
|
| |
Wow... the tunes are awesome
Thanx bro, u got me hooked
|
| |
Children of Bodom are one of my all-time favourites and this is my fav of their albums... Alexi Laiho well and truly rules at the guitar and i love EVERY single song of theirs... but i have to say the best on this album are... Kissing the Shadows (if only for the solos), Every Time i Die, Follow the Reaper and Hate Me! I love all the others, but Bodom After Midnight annoys me since i've listened to it way too many times

They're not black metal though. :-/
|
| |
er, i believe it's "you are" or "you're".
Moreover, if you call them black metal you'd probably call Arch Enemy and the whole melodic death crowd black metal as well then now wouldn't you? Listen to Arch Enemy's Stigmata/Burning Bridges and you'll understand what i mean. Secondly, i just explained to you why i don't think they're black metal, mainly because the vocals don't sound like black metal, the drumming isn't "black metal", the lyrics/ideology isn't "black metal" and last but not least, the guitars aren't black metal.
You're telling me to "explain my reasons", i didn't see any elucidation from your part on why you think CoB are black metal.
Wow, you're an idiot.
Who cares? The guy thinks its black metal, what are you going to do about it, cry?

Another album I need to get.
|
| |
good review, good album and some good posts :P.
I think it is not black metal though, mostly because of the guitars, they are too power, i think its more of a mixture between black voice, power guitars and some progressive drums, not all, but some.
About alexi as a guitarist, i dont find him to be anything special, just good enough for the band, but not seriously good, he is much better as a vocalist though, ever tried singing like that? its really hard :thumb:

| |
Solid piece, I give it a 3.5/5, only for the fact that I can't listen to the whole CD in one sitting. Alexi is unbelievable.

Oh, and soes anybody else feel like Alexi is the Dave Mustaine of Black/Power metal? (sings lead/plays lead)
|
| |
dosen't Mustaine play rhythm, and bodom kick arse, saw them live a few weeks ago! m/
|
| |
Children of bodom seem pretty kool from what ive heard im not massively impressed though.
|
| |
Everytime I Die was the first song I heard by CoB and it's my favorite. I have Hate Crew Deathroll, which is a great album. I'll be sure to pick this one up.
|
| |
Pah you don't know what you missing chris! and JMann I'd recommend you get Hatebreeder as soon as possible as well, that's a good album
|
| |
my god people no one has pointed out the proper genre once. there power metal with HARSH vocals.
|
| |
This is the greatest album by them EVER!.. I don't care what anyone says. Alexi is now one of my favorite guitar players.. He has revolutionized shredding as we know it today!! I listen to this album OVER AND OVER again, until my ears bleed!!!!!!! C.O.B. has got it.. fast synth,offset/beat pounding drums,INSANE! guitar playing, and a thumping bass!!! the vocals are the best metal i have heard in a looong time... I love his voice.. now you can go and listen to your screamo, and emo, and punk *** ****... Listen to this and you'll regret listening to other styles of music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Put a fork in me I'm done!
