A much easier introduction to free-jazz than Ornette or Coltrane.

"Why haven’t I heard this guy yet"
Probably because Sput isn't the ideal place to come if you like to listen to, and discuss jazz.

"A much easier introduction to free-jazz than Ornette or Coltrane"
Funny, I found "Free Jazz" a much more approachable endeavor than this. this still eludes me somewhat but grows ever so slowly

I feel like “free jazz” is what people expect when they hear jazz music for the first time as opposed to controlled and subtle “standard” stuff like Kind of Blue which is why people feel that way

Here you can hear 2 notes played in sequency creating some melody, even if for 3 seconds. In "Free Jazz" or "Ascension" that 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 happens.
Both last records belong to a very strict list of high challenging jazz albums. The creators association to those albums will of course attrack adventerous listeners, but very few will appreciate it, at all.
