haha. Well I'm sure some find Dec 5 difficult, but apart from it's last track I think it's an approachable album if you are used to more experimental music. The Program Music album takes it's title from a classical music term for descriptive music, so you could almost see this one as conservative. That doesn't have to be a bad thing of course it can be a strength, but it just didn't grip me.

It's got the whole choppy production with synth melody thing going like Kashiwa - Kinda like if this album was condensed and chopped into 4-minute songs with more of a hip-hop feel (although it's really not all that Hip-hoppy)

this is like so over the top and almost like manipulative/sappy in a way but it's so fucking good. cool rec

this is very good and is capable of some absolutely excellent moments. (5 minute or so into "write once, run melos" wins best in show). i also think, though, that is sort of collapses under its own weight...so a very high 3.5

Someone did a blog post somewhere describing exactly that manipulative/sappy side that you mention. I think he gets rid of that in the following album he did but it's more difficult for most people.
