Yeah, this is album is a great ice breaker. Overnight Sensation is another great starting point.

I love Hot Rats, but I don't think it's a great starting point since it doesn't do a good job introducing someone to Zappa's varied styles.

Over-Nite Sensation, however is a good choice for starter.

Joe's Garage was my first Zappa though, so I can't help, but always suggest it first.

Joe's Garage registers the best if you listen to all 3 Acts back to back.

Also, because it has more in-jokes than most Zappa albums, it's usually best to get into it with a friend so you can be weird together. Ah reminds me of when I was 14...

Has anyone here ever heard Zappa on the radio?

I once heard Joe's Garage (the song). It was an amazing moment.

That will be the day when Zappa and King Crimson rule the radio waves. One day in heaven...God will wipe every tear and make all things right!

Oh mine was on actual FM radio, can you believe that?

"it was the Thing-Fish version of You Are What You Is" That makes me frown... the original version is so much better.

Po-Jama People and Baby Snakes? woot!

It's a good entry level Zappa album. Plus he's already heard Hot Rats, and you convinced you We're Only In It is a difficult listen.

Fripp, you ALWAYS rec Absolutely Free, so don't be a hypocrite.

"Joe's Garage is in no way an entry-level album."

It was my entry album and my first experimental album ever. It's really easy to like since there's a humorous and easy to

follow story accompanying the music. Plus there's tons of guitar hooks in the songs.

Absolutely Free is your go to Zappa album, like mine is Joe's Garage.
