Sounds like he has some "issues" with organised religion at the very least.

those and "fox in the snow" (maybe controversial take) are def the weak links here but yeah everything else is quite perfect

Only just noticed the little keyboard flourishes at the end of the title track, nice touch.
I honestly don't think there are any weak links on this album, back to front it's just perfectly paced and every track complements the last in a way that makes it a hugely satisfying listen.

There was a real aura about this band in the 90s. All media hype but it has to be said the opener on this thing is one of the very best.

I get that, especially being a small band on Jeepster with all the mystique around Stuart Murdoch as a frontman. Maybe that mystique was lost when they became more of a 'rock band' in the 2000s, but I do like Catastrophe Waitress and Life Pursuit.
