"What of it Mr. Tao?"
I'm just curious as to why, that's all! I was introduced to Björk's music through Vespertine and Medúlla, so her earlier material (Debut specifically) never appealed to me quite as much. I was just interested what you loved about Debut..

Yeah sure, its a little rough around the edges, and she didn't really capture her "identity" so to speak until later, but there's just something about that album that I find to be truly, for lack of a better word, entrancing. Just a shame she looks like MJ on the album cover

Differing point of view.
She shifts her styles frequently.
When Debut and Post came out they were her identity and it was unlike anything else being played at the time and it was phenomenal. I don't feel they were rough around the edges at all. She was already a seasond performer by this point.
Homogeneic was a big departure from her previous work which made it stunning and unexpected. She has made equal, better and worse music since then but it has never been the quantum leap that Homogenic was.
oh, IMO ;^)
homogenic > post > debut > vespertine > medula = volta

^ Yah, I don't get that.
I might just have some left over hostility over the fact that the the last track doesn't work
on the original pressing which is the one I own. >:^(

Aw man, that really does suck. "Unison" is so beautiful. Vespertine is still my all-time favorite (I think it's a 5 for me) for many reasons, both musical and lyrical. I think it's her best album, but Homogenic may just have the best songs she's ever written.
