It's definately a ground-breaking album, yet I believe is inferior to Hello nasty, Paul's Boutique and Ill:Communication. This Message Edited On 04.08.06

I don't like this album. At all. Brass Monkey gets on my nerves.

I love Beastie Boys but this is probably their worst album, it really doesn't hold up to the test of time. "Rhymin' and Stealin'" and "Time to Get Ill" are probably the best tracks on here and that's about it.

Oh, come now, Mr. Bron-Yr-Aur. Can you not at least appreciate the many subtle nods to Led Zeppelin placed strategically around the album?

Not really. I find it hard to appreciate the beastie boys at all. That being said, they did do alot for the white guy rap theme

If one will allow me to give you some additional facts about the album and the connection with Led Zeppelin:

The "Ryhmin & Stealin'" drum beat clearly echoes Led Zeppelin's "When the Levee Breaks"

"She's Crafty", incase you didn't catch it, samples the Led Zeppelin song "The Ocean"

The main riff of Zeppelin's "Custard Pie" is directly cut and pasted into "Time to Get Ill"

...and as if there weren’t enough nods to the mighty Zeppelin, Mike D also throws in the lyric "...if I played guitar, I'd be Jimmy Page..."

You could say the same thing about the countless other artists they sampled =/

This is by far and away the weakest Beastie Boys album. Brass Monkey and No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn are meh, and the rest of the album seems really sloppy and unorganized.

Well then, one must forgive me. I had figured from the lack of mentions that this was either painfully obvious or simply unknown to fans.
