So I bought this album and The Antidote the other day. I like this album but the hard rock atmosphere on The Antidote was something I've been craving for a long time. This is a solid album, but The Antidote still remains my favourite by these guys, despite this album being their root sound.

The Antidote is a pretty good album... it's Darkness and Hope that I think is pretty bad... The Antidote starts their rise in quality.

Hell yeah. I was just listening to "Tenebararum Oratorium" on the way to work (which prompted me to throw on Daemonarch).

lol when I saw these guys live the singer was wearing vampire teeth.
If you've heard the cheese coming from the Wolfheart album you wouldn't be surprised by that at all.

the whole show I was laughing at the singer. I almost pissed myself when he started baring them at the crowd.

ya tour was really bad. Dimmu put up a great show, I guess. Danzig sounded so bad though, and Winds of Plague just pissed me off with their damn hoodies.

However, Skeletonwitch was worth the price of admission.

Last year? I would have thought he'd be over that shit by now... oh well. The Blackest of the Black tour didn't really catch my interest.

It was like a year ago, so seeing dimmu borgir was like a wet dream to me. Now its kinda eh.

Well, I'm Portuguese so I saw them several times (4 or 5 times, I think more...) and yeah, you guys can call it, Portuguese Gothic Scene, which is really fucking lame, because of it I really started to dislike them a lot.

That and the 90% pseudo gothic people watching their shows looking at me like if I didn't belong there (Even though I bet I listen to heavier shit than all of them together), oh well, probably some trauma of my teenage years as a pseudo gothic myself :D

I never bothered with these guys because i always thought they were just a bad CoF ripoff. What would you rec as a starter?

They're not like Cradle at all. The only thing they have in common is the gothic themes, but other than that they don't sound anything alike. Night Eternal is their best album so definitely get on that right away.

I had totally forgotten how great Moonspell's early material was and listening to it this well produced is really nice.
