Yeah I'm not a drummer, but I can still differentiate between boring, simple drumming and better, varied drumming. And in that respect, I thought the drumming on the album was pretty good.

but you're right, it's not like this album is groundbreaking in terms of musicianship.

This was a good return to form for Suidakra after the terrible 'Command to Charge' when they went all bland and commercial-sounding.

Caledonia is damn good but not their best. I still think 'Arcanum' and 'Emprise to Avalon' are the best albums they ever put out. 'Lays from Afar' is pretty good too. This Message Edited On 04.30.08This Message Edited On 04.30.08

I found this album/band while looking for a traditional celtic album of the same name for my dad...couldn't believe the luck of mistakenly downloading a melodeath band with celtic influences...really a great find with this one, nice job on the review, does the disc justice.

So after my astonishment I googled the word ‘Arkadius’, and found out that it’s the name of a Polish fashion designer. Wait, what? That can’t be right. So I continued my search. On further inspection, I realized that Arkadius is the name of the harsh vocalist/guitarist of the band. That’s much better.

Fucking hilarious!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand Celtic metal coming from germany. Of all the places, the fucking Saxons are paying an ode to the Celts. Shouldn't they be playing Saxon folk metal?

Definitely one of the most underrated melodic death metal bands. This album and "The Arcanum" are my favorites.

HAH, I've been trying to remember the name of this band for WEEKS! I saw a music video of their on Comcast on demand, and it was just awesome. I think it was called Shattered Swords or something like that, but I remember thinking that there's nothing cooler than a Celtic-influenced melodeath band doing a Dio-like video dressed up in medieval war costumes and shit. Now that I've got this down, I'm gonna buy this shit.

This is the first album from Suidakra that I had the pleasure of listening to. I was very impressed with the quality of Melodic Death Metal mixed with Celtic and Folk influences. Listening to this record brings me back to my Irish and Scottish heritage.

All in all, a fantastic release from this band.

Im opening myself to folk metal with their strange off-set vocals.

Globally this band is really good at putting the listener in a folk heavy mood.

Really good band.
