I dont, I havent been able to find a detailed breakdown for what appears where for any of the field recordings unfortunately but if you ever find anything post it here cuz I would also love to know.

From the last interview I saw of his, he talks like he's moving towards simplification. Sounds like he had enough of heavy sampling and field recordings. Who knows if it's a stage or a progression. Really dig his latest stuff, and I can see him veering away from what he did with albums like ISAM or Foley.

Well his new music is almost entirely electroacoustic, which when arranged in this manner is pretty much like a long-form version of sampling. For this and ISAM the difference from his previous work I believe was that his samples were almost exclusively from first party recordings/material. For this electroacoustic stuff he is still recording and manipulating heavily. I see it as a progression, but certainly not a simplification. It's pretty sophisticated stuff.

Oh, for sure. I think his version of "simplication" is still quite complicated, haha.

I have no idea how much of the raw acoustic material was performed by himself though, which would be interesting to find out. I'd like to think he did all of it.

The interview is really recent... it was put out April 3rd of this year. And he was saying how he thought he took sampling as far as it could go. He was talking about how he wanted to go back to more base sounds and see what he could make of it.

Yea, idk how much of the acoustics he did himself either, but regardless, he's involved in the process and knowing the source material.

What I mean is that there may have been studio musicians involved but I'm not sure

That would be impressive if he did all that, no doubt. I wouldn't fault him for not though...

I still need to check Long Stories, as well. Is that a legitimate album, or just some extras from Fear in a Handful of Dust?
