Listening to this album was like being stoned while getting beaten up. I was left confused and with a headache.

Is this something like the musical equivalent of a Jackson Pollack painting? That's the
message I'm getting here, and it doesn't seem like that would translate well to music,
at least not something I'd enjoy listening to.This Message Edited On 11.27.07

That's a great (and accurate) visual description... for 95% of people it doesn't translate well into music... there are some that like it though.

Merzbow is very hit and miss with me. I don't know if I would like a whole record...or even get through one...

What a truly awful review. You clearly haven't grasped the concept that Akita was trying to get across. Far from having anything to do with song-lengths, this album offers both a texturally and dynamically harsh audio experience. Also, it is really very silly to compare Merzbow to acts like Lightning Bolt, when Akita obviously has nothing in common with the approach of 'noise-rock' bands.
