3 songs in.... don't really like it too much.... sorry. We'll see how the rest of the album plays out.

Decided on a 3. This album was just way too crazy for me to actually appreciate. It's decent, but I don't think it's amazing.

It's definitely amazing ;) it's progressive without being prof, it has lots of great musicianship without a solo to be heard. I understand where you're coming from though, this isn't easy to get into. Try their Songs For Insects album, it's less random and more accessible.

That's not a lot for this album. It took me many more than that. Glad you like this, though. Have you heard their "Songs for Insects" album yet?

I couldn't find it anywhere, so I tried Soulseek and I can't even get a 320 kbs version. I really want to hear it though.

This is definitely interesting. You just have to give it a few tries - usually more than two ;)

I don't know if "Songs For Insects" is online anywhere. It has to be somewhere.

I guess I'll have to ask a friend to order it since credit cards piss me off

The rhythms in this album are pretty crazy. the beginning "dun dun dun, dun dun dududududun dun dun" is so addicting with the little melodic blips to keep it going.

This album was extremely unique for it's time. They did definitely switch directions immensely from Songs for Insects to this. I love it.

So, you're a fan of that early nineties Kalamazoo scene (I saw you poseted on the Lo-Fi Scorpio review too). Have you tried Genius Hired Guns or I Am Spoonbender (the drummer from this album's current band).

Oh yeah, I own the Genius Hired Guns album. I am Spoonbender I haven't heard, is that Jared's or the original drummer's band? I knew the og drummer moved to cali and was in a gay/theatric kind of band.

I am Spoonbender is the original drummer's new band (Dustin Donaldson)... Yeah, he played in Pansy Division after leaving Thought Industry. There's also the guitar player (Christopher Lee) from this album's last band, The Static Dynamic, that are worth looking into as well (although it seems they're broken up now).

Their Last drummer who played on Shortwave, Cam, he is in a band called Posi now. Mike Roche, I haven't heard from him in a while. I am sure he is still producing bands. He actually did my first band's album. Brent lives out in Boston now as far as I last knew, I don't think he has anything musical going on. Have you heard Twitch? It is Brent Oberlin's brother's band.

I've heard Twitch. I think I've pretty much sampled anything and everything from the Leon's Temple site. As for Brent, they keep hinting over on that site that he is doing a new Thought Industry album. It might just be wishful thinking at this point, but that would be really cool.

Hmm. In Boston, eh? We will see. Then, I am sure you heard Cosmonaut then. Right?

Yeah, my brother in law's band is playing with the guitarist and bassist of cosmonaut right now in a project.

Why would you say that without providing a band name and webpage links? ;) I liked that band musically, but thought that Brent was the weak link (surprisingly).

Well, they actually just started playing together. I used to play with them, they have gone through a shit ton of line up changes. We probably won't be hearing anything from them for a while. These guys joined them about a month ago. So, we will see where it takes them in the future. Since I live right above my brother in law. I can tell you that it should be pretty damn good. I would give you links to my bands, but we just have demo quality stuff right now.
