Most common quote around just has to be: "Avril is a poser shes not punk". How do you know that? Unless you have some SERIOUS proof, or you are one of her good friends (in which case, I doubt you'd be saying much against her :lol: ) I don't believe you guys... anyway, who told you all of this in the first place? MEDIA! Then who dissed her for it? MEDIA! One thing, people - a LOT of the media lies, it's like one huge rumour dispersion terminal. They bring out all the little imperfections about someone that they can and blow them up into something huge. Don't judge people by it.

It's actually quite funny. I've played some of her not-so-well-known-songs at a few of my performances. Afterwards, people say how good the song was
- then I tell them it's one of Avril's... and, quite suddenly, they hate it... shows you how much they care about an image.

The reason why I get so annoyed about Avril getting bagged so much: People relate me to her :D (and I was like that before she came out - I'm no image! :thumb: )

same here, when i performed some of her tracks everybody was rocking on tha dancefloor and when they asked me wich artist performed the tracks, they hated me and the tracks oO but i could proselytize them and so they liked the tracks

but its true that the media can ruin ur life or it can push ur image, its how they like u and if u take drugs, trinks too much that youll show all of ur secret places on ur body well, its so, what can we do against ?

Avril Lavigne is alright, i like her songs my happy ending and dont tell me from her new albums. what i like is the sound her songs have, like the guitars she uses, but her lyrics arent that great.

avril is ok but she's kinda lost her novelty of 'punk rebel' she shud just quit now and start livin' it up large with all the money she has also she shud do something wit her hair.....it sucks

Wow... so many more people than I thought like her music let alone her. Which is great because I think she's been given way too much stick. I don't wanna start going over the top defending her but there are some things people say about her which just aren't fair.

You say that she doesn't write her own songs yet she has a book with the lyrics she wrote to most of the songs on her albums. She can sing live. There are inevitably some bands on here with singers who couldn't sing well live to save their life and a lot of pop singers who just don't make the effort (lip sync). She's also said on several occasions that her music is pop, and that she isn't punk and never was. She has her style and I like it.

To the people on here critisise music because it's simple and consists of maybe only a few chords, I think that's stupid. (I'm not talking about whether you like it or not). Songs don't have to be ridiculously complex to sound good or be appreciated. It's actually quite difficult to make a really great song out of less, Complicated it such a well put together song despite whether you like it or not and that has something like 6 or 7 basic chords. The same goes for lyrics. Sometimes I just don't want to listen to someones over articulate, mind bending lyrics. I think her lyrics are fine.

As for the review, I liked it, it was dead honest. I have no preference over either of her albums, I think they're both great. :thumb:

Well, good job on the review. you spoke what you thought and there's no right or wrong to that. Personally, i liked her song Nobody's home and Together. i wouldn't say her live singing is that good though. To me, it sounded as if she was talking rather than singing. Avril has definitely made a big change to her songs. I think i heard more minor songs in the 2nd album. It seems as if she's put quite a lot of effort into the album nevertheless..

oh and come on.. the lyrics.. most songs are based on 'Love'

ok i love avril lavigne but i've always been too embarassed to say so. i thought this album wasn't as good as the first one but not by much. i don't think shes a phenomenal singer i think shes very average, but i like her style and about that whole "no makeup" thing, every girl looks gross without makeup on, get over it.

great guitar work , catchy pop punk songs and overall a good second album.... you will notice its not perfect and is let down by 1 or 2 songs but its well produced and great to listen to every once in a while
