Construct was a very small step in the right direction. I think they should go more into progressive death territory with slightly longer songs and more variation. And Stanne should employ more cleans. Basically what Opeth used to be, that would be interesting.



But whatever they do, they need to progress now.

Agreed. I found Fiction, Character, and Damage Done were all perfectly good records, but they all followed a similar formula and lacked standout tracks. As for We Are The Void, what I've listened to was awful and I haven't bothered with it since.



What they need to do is change up their formula big-time and make something really memorable and unique.

Album is fucking perfect. Band is literally the best and most consistent in melodeath, only weak things they've done are Haven and We Are the Void but I still jam those occasionally.

The reissue of this with the bonus tracks is even better.

I like this one a lot more than the latest few.

its probably a 4.2 for me because there are 1 or 2 bad tracks but the avg is terrible

it was a shame johansson left and henriksson switched from bass to guitar for haven too. those two were magic on these first four albums. i think DT lost most of its atmosphere after projector because of those changes
