Jane Doe is definitely their most inaccessible record so chances are if you come back to it after getting into their other stuff you might be more into it.

It's kind of a rough starting point despite being their most popular album

Axe to Fall is great. Wretched World is such a departure for them but it's one of their best tracks.

Because once you get it YOU FUCKING GET IT MAN

Honestly though I had no trouble getting into this. Harsh vocals have never bothered me very much and these days they’re mostly what I listen to

I've been spoiled by years of over-produced modern metalcore vocals, so that's where I'm coming from.

That’s unfortunate lol. I liked some of that stuff for awhile in high school but it didn’t take long for me to get bored of it.

Surprisingly, metalcore has made some great strides in the past few years and has gotten more progressive, which has kept me interested (bands like Northlane, Novelists, Erra). I was also big into the deathcore in high school but that genre is dead af now.

I genuinely didn't like this album for a solid two years. but at that time I was a total metal noob. then one night when I was drunk and angry it just clicked. loved it ever since

Yea the modern “progressive” metalcore bands have never interested me. I’m way more into 90s metalcore and mathcore and modern stuff that carries on that mentality.

modern "prog" metal core bands basically just wank and have a load of "djenty" bullshit talking about triangles and shit

Holy fuck that’s so accurate and exactly why I don’t like it

and then you have a band like Seizures that carries on the true metalcore flame 🔥
