Hey guys,

My name is George, I play guitars/vox in Be'lakor. Although I like reading forums and people's opinions about our music, I don't generally like to post (ruins the fun!), but checking out this thread I felt like I should jump in and say something.

Just to be 100% clear, neither I nor the band have heard any music by Elysian Fields, nor had we even heard of them- so there's no possibility that anything was ripped off. I tried to find the album in question- or any of their music- but I had no luck so I can't comment as to the apparent similarity. I do know that I myself wrote that riff in Neither Shape Nor Shadow so I can assure you it was my work ;)

I can only suppose the potential for melodies to soundquite similar is a concern for this kind of metal! If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Great to hear that so many of you are digging the CD, thanks for the interest and support!

Cheers,
George

I have a few questions if you don't mind.

Do you want to hear that track with the similar riff?
Will you ever come to Perth?
Do you think the new album could be out before 2009?

You guys are awesome, keep up the good stuff

Sure man, no problems.

1. Yeah I'd like to hear it! - please email a link/song to belakor-admin@hotmail.com.

2. Yes I'm certain we will come to Perth at some point, but to be brutally honest it's not likely any time soon given time/expense issues. We all work/study full time so it's very difficult to coordinate our holidays; at this stage we're yet to play outside Melbourne.

I was a session member in another band that did an interstate tour, they (and I) lost alot of money and played in front of very small audiences. Pretty depressing. I notice alot of interstate bands have similar problems in Melbourne. So, for this reason, we'd be very cautious before doing a national tour.

3. Unfortunately the new album will not be out before 2009, it should be out in the first quarter of 2009 though. It's a long way off- and to be honest the album is probably 4/5ths written- but we're trying to make sure we get everything right with this one.

Thanks for the compliment mate, much appreciated

Yea I understand the national tour thing, I don't think Australia is that big on metal - especially (melodic) death metal. Early 2009 isn't that bad, I can wait.

The song is called "Ensheild My Hate Eternal", sending it, the riff doesn't seem that similar anymore, and it seems like its quite a popular riff, another band "Intestine Baalism" use another variation of the riff in their song "Banquet in the Darkness".

Listened to this like 30 times and it's still so so good. A Natural Apostasy is like the greatest song ever.

Just head over to their forum, pretty much all of the band are very active, I don't post that much but it's fun to read.

Well with your unnatural love for frutiy boy bands + your digging of Young Jeezy it made me forget that you actually listen to some good metal. At least S Club 7 has hot chicks tbh.

Wow these guys are pretty sick. I'm very particular about bands in this genre but so far I'm greatly enjoying this. The review is spot on.

This album is sold out now! I'm really glad I bought it when I did. If these guys go big this original release could be worth some money.
