It just bothers me that the talent in A7x is going to waste, and that they have to mooch off of real talent, like Oingo Boingo, to make another album

And, if we hate them, why would we listen to their interviews?

Haha this last page is pure gold. They didn't take a risk, it sounds like a watered down city of evil, which I hated in the beginning but it grew on me, and im quite confident that this album is beginning to do the same. I just can't stand the first half of gunslinger.

I'm a huge fanboy but I was disappointed as all hell with this. For me, they could do no wrong... until they released this album. :/

They've had some good moments: Waking the Fallen is a great album. This is pure suck, however.

I listened to this album once and tossed it. Afterwards I went back and listened to all their old albums and realized that, sure, they can play, but aside from some sick guitar solos and a breakdown or two, none of their music was ever really that great in the first place.

Say what you want but Avenged has their own sound that sets em apart from most other bands, whether you like it or not, it's still a good accomplishment these days where bands are popping out of the ground like mushrooms.

I'm prolly one of the few here, but I think it's an interesting experimental album. Started listening to them because I thought a few of their videoclip songs had some interesting drumming and guess what, the whole band was made out of great musicians. Sorry, I like the album Forgive me.

Tell me, how do they have their "own" sound?

If by their own sound he means they sound awful then yes, they have their own sound.

You know, after listening to this for too long, it's starting to really really suck. Maybe I am starting to see what everyone else is saying!.

It does...songs like "scream!" and "dear god" make my cringe when I look at how good A7X once was with "waking the Fallen"...

Some stupid generic "experiment" tries to ruin each song.

1. Critical Acclaim just sucks, even for nu-metal

2. Almost Easy is Bat Country for MTV

3. Scream is a nu-metal song about hardcore sex: tell me what you think is going to happen.

4. Gunslinger is actually ok, just nothing spectacular.

5. Afterlife is just the fault of The Rev's retarded songwriting, It has a good solo though. Don't you love when M. Shadow's voice cracks?

6.Unbound The Wild Ride: if it weren't for that stupid child's chorus, this would be the best song on the album.

7. Brompton Cocktail: the best song on the album, instrumentally, vocally, and lyrically.

8. Lost: damn that stupid vocoder trend.

9. A Little Piece Of Heaven: the worst song of 2007, yes?

10. Dear God: No M. Shadows, you're not Garth Brooks, don't try to be him either.

lol

This band has yet to record a decent album. Waking the Fallen sucks on the level that The Curse did.

Brompton Cocktail is the only song that isn't completely plagued by something corny or cheesy. A Little Piece of Heaven is made up entirely of cheesy circus music.

To ninjuice, what about City Of Evil?

City of Evil borders on average. It's just too boring.

City Of Evil was a bit too long, but I think its a classic otherwise.

This album, on the other hand, completely sucks.
