I do like this album and I also like the track Money a lot but it seems like at times it has the same pattern as System songs we have heard before. Other songs are unique but when the verse first came on for Money it reminded me of Aerials mixed with Toxicity with the slow kinda swaying beat

I only had the green for one CD this month, and got The Alchemy Index. I hope I made a good decision.
The Alchemy Index is waaay better than this, but you should still check this out when you get the chance.

Just finished giving this a spin. After one and a half album listens, The Unthinking Majority, Sky Is Over, Lie Lie Lie and definately Praise The Lord... are the best songs. I had huge expectations for this, but so far it's not living up to them. Besides those songs, it's pretty average thus far.
But yeah, Praise The Lord And Pass The Ammunition is one of the best songs Serj has ever written, SOAD or solo. Everyone that hasn't heard it check it out now.
It would have just been nice if you were more neutral.
What? The point of a review is to state an opinion. If he was "neutral" then it would just be a track listing.

What a waste of guitar skills.

im really liking this so far. Serj never disappoints with his vocals (i may be the only one that thinks this)

Am I the only person who thinks Serj and Daron both get annoying and/or boring by themselves after a while but complement each other perfectly in System of a Down? (at least pre-Mezmerize due to more balance)

I want to like this album but it's not happening. I like the higher energy, more experimental stuff but this album doesn't have much of that. Radio rock does nothing for me.

good, but not great. Serj was always one of my favorite vocalists, but I think that SOAD stuff was better than this. some of the songs in this album sounds stale.

This album is honestly worth more than one listen; trying to give a good opinion off material that has so much symbolism in it, as Serj's writing often does, proves tricky without knowing what the artist is trying to say

And Serj is ALWAYS trying to say something.

There were two things that caught me on this album:

1. He's making a video for every single track, and as recently as this post, all of them have been excellent, especially the one for Saving Us

2. As the review said, his lyrics are so catchy that the songs have nigh-infinite ability to be listened to over and over.

This is not an album that will change your opinion of him, but if you loved SOAD, it's definitely worth checking out. This Message Edited On 11.01.07

Empty Walls is really bah.

Meh, it sounds like a bunch of system B-sides with more piano. How bizarrely meh.

Yeah but some of them would be really good B-sides like TUM, Money, Sky Is Over, Lie Lie Lie and Praise the Lord, which to me sounds like Mr. Bungle.
Agreed on the rest of the songs, especially ones like Saving Us.

The middle songs are very bland. As of right now, here's how I'd rate the songs, best to worst:

Money<

Praise The Lord And Pass The Ammunition

Lie Lie Lie

The Unthinking Majority

Empty Walls

Elect The Dead

Beethoven's Cunt

Honking Antelope

Saving Us

Feed Us

Baby
