2+2=5 is their best opener

I wouldn't go THAT far

"Burn the Witch" probably takes it for me

Everything or 15 for me, but it's a hard one, yeah

The patchyness of HTTT might be why I like it so much. It's their White Album in a way.

Yeah, it kind of played out like the whole "Radiohead TV" thing they were doing at the time so it felt pretty appropriate

and my favorite RH openers are Airbag & 2+2 with honorable mention to EIIRP

Yeah I think its main flaw compared to their great albums is pacing, but each song is gold imo. 15th step or Airbag are usually the openers that grab me instantly.

Airbag and 15 Step are their most iconic and beautiful but 2+2 feels like an actual opener the most and is an immidiate punch

Others are not even close to these 3

I've really come to love Bloom as an opener

Me too, Bloom is great. Those trumpets or horns or whatever they are give it such a great atmosphere

HTTT may not be as consistent as this, but it has some of my favorite RH songs on it. I even think songs like Sail to the Moon and Scatterbrain influenced cuts like "Meredith" and "Mine Host" from Oceansize. They are incredibly moody and ambigous in their atmosphere, that's what i love about both bands

Yeah man, HTTT is one of my favourites actually. Super strong songs and to me it has a lot of replay-value.

Agreed, and arguably it was the first time they sounded like an “actual band”’since like OKC, but they kept what they learned from Kid & Amnesiac so tbh I consider it pretty definitive of the band as a whole

Has a unique moody tone to it that I find really alluring.
