“Reckoner” is a masterclass in how to take nominally “boring” sounds and rhythms and turn them into something really special

OR maybe not idk, but I feel like a cover of “reckoner” could easily be the most boring thing on earth but it’s such a touching thing here

hmmm idk, the components of reckoner are pretty interesting to me even individually. like the percussion at the beginning is a great start, and then the guitar comes in and changes the direction. but i can agree with what you're saying about a cover

Yeah for me Reckoner is all about momentum so I think it matters who's playing it

Yeah Reckoner is one of their best songs, that outro especially is so beautiful.

The 3.0s are a strong and proud race, if not a bit hardheaded

of course this is based on emotion it’s Radiohead. It just doesn’t reach the same emotional heights as fake plastic trees, lucky, climbing up the walls, how to disappear or motion picture soundtrack imo. It seems to just have a different emphasis, like on being a perfectly well rounded and crisp experience

I think this might be better than my rating suggests, been jamming disc 2 & that's a 4, surely this is superior?

It certainly grew on me. Songs like All I Need, Reckoner and House of Cards are such great songs to just sink into another headspace to

I didn't even like this much when it came out, despite being a Radiohead fan. Very slow grower indeed as I keep revisiting it in spurts & the improvement over time has been noticeable. Now I don't understand my initial lukewarm reaction to this.
