Very impressive review. You got that right, that the previus album sounded "Creed". I think the reason was that all of the songs were written by Mark Tremonti himself and Myles Kennedy only sang them. But on this album is situation different. Also Myles wrote material for it. Well, I amost agree with this review, I don't feel it's too long. I don't understand how an album can be too long, because it just makes me want to hear more. They could have added ten more songs and I still would'nt get bored with it. This is truely a great album.

I like how some feel inclined to describe this as generic while there are 2 to 3 songs on this disc swaying in that direction (Rise Today and Break me Down, Before Tomorrow Comes somewhat). It makes me think you really haven't taken a good listen and blow it off based on this bands past (which I can, truthfully said, understand somewhat, as that band was utter shit). This album is head and shoulders above todays competition in musicianship and emotion, stellar live band as well. I feel they can still improve themselves.

Thought this cd was great and I wasn't even an Alter Bridge fan before I heard this. Had a Best Buy gift card and wanted to buy something so I tried it out (I did like the song Metalingus from their first album so i wouldn't consider this buying a random cd). Listened to Ties That Bind and Come To Life and I already new that was a gift card well spent.
