"Jamming the fuck out of this album whilst playing Witcher 3. Weird combo, but it totally fucking works man."
"Video games often work best as a way to process new albums imo, I can listen on repeat while playing something that doesn't take too much attention. Reading is a bit more interesting - you kinda have to curate a mix on the go, in response to how the book develops"
Are you guys actually chicks? (if so and if I were single, it would be the part where ask you for further contacts)

I was being a bit feminist on the multitasking quality! It was "bad" joke. I can't read and listen to music though...I think its just impossible to focus on either (depending on the genre, agreed)...to gaming I just rather the actual soundtrack.
I won't follow Johnny's advice and will jam this one today (finally).
BTW Lark, I just bought that game of the decade, looking fw to jam da fuck out of it, may life concede the time...

Ah I understand now. Yeah, the actual soundtrack is ideal.
Take a trip down to spiderland!

Actual soundtrack depends on how repetitive it is imo. TW3 and Soulsborne are full of good homejams moments!
Lol DDD if that's the case ignore the hell out of me and jam jam jam!!!

Also Ghandhi, haven't read around on this one but am I the only one hearing a decent amount in common between this and Frigid Stars?

Yes that's accurate! Slint were around earlier than Codeine though. (Cigarette Machine is the most obvious song influenced by Slint)
Check out the band Bitch Magnet. They had a close relationship with members of Slint.
It's very likely that they were the source of Slint and Codeine.

I think I've already praised it a few pages back, but do check the documentary if you haven't. It's amazing.

While I haven’t heard Codeine the comparison makes sense, this was massively influential on slowcore. In fact what other people hear as post-rock on this I tend to hear as slowcore, I mean “Don, Aman”, “Washer”, and “For Dinner” are about as prototypical of the style as you can get.
