Yeah Washer is probably my favorite so far. Can’t wait to listen to this on my headphones.

This is probably the most headphone-iest album of all time.

"how the hell did this one slip past me"

This slips past everyone until it's too late ;] Hardest of 5s and every track is better than the one before

You are beyond cool if you recognise the greatness of For Dinner.

For Dinner is Talk Talk-level dynamic mastery, this is a hill I will die on

“Washer” > “Good Morning Captain” > “Breadcrumb Trail” > “Don, Aman” > “Nosferatu Man” > “For Dinner”

That said “For Dinner” is still great.

"Ok, that almost redeems your weird mbv takes"

Haha fwiw, You Never Should is top 5 mbv for me now

Thing I love about this album is that there are no bad rankings (as long as Washer and GMC are in the top half ofc)

Maybe you should try the 'You Made Me Realise' ep if that's a song that grabs you.

MBV EPs (from '87 on at least) are essential af, way better than that crap comeback album. The Ecstasy and Wine comp works well as an (albeit short) LP.

Jamming the fuck out of this album whilst playing Witcher 3. Weird combo, but it totally fucking works man.

I wanna say this is a dumb combo but if there's one thing repeat jamming this to Pokemon Dark Rising 2 taught me, it's that Slint will drain the colour out of anything

I never understood the whole listening to music whilst playing games thing. I could never focus on the two.

You're probably too refined for it ;] I'm one of those monsters who reads with music too, although in both cases there are certain albums that just don't work (and certain passages/moments of gameplay that need to be paused for)

I think reading could be easier? I've never tried outside of just reading reviews etc.

Video games often work best as a way to process new albums imo, I can listen on repeat while playing something that doesn't take too much attention. Reading is a bit more interesting - you kinda have to curate a mix on the go, in response to how the book develops

DDD man check this the day after tomorrow! Nothing like Slint for the soundtrack to turning over a new leaf/year ;]
