Maximum the Hormone - Deka vs Deka

I love this album but that show annihilates this. The crowd energy of Korn's Woodstock 99, some of the best production I have ever heard and it balanced crushing heaviness with genuine fun perfectly. Shame you can't watch it online until I own it (I'll be putting it online) and despite one of their albums being imo the 2nd best Nu Metal album it doesn't really do it justice.

Wow, Death Blooms was my shit when I was in middle (high?) school. Kinda totally forgot about these guys until I saw this album in the recent comments. Gotta jam this now, I always liked this and The End of All Things to Come.

But really, L.D. 50 was a super solid album. It's just a shame it came out a bit after the S/T Slipknot album, and a lot of people kinda wrote this album off as a copycat. I suppose when one group wears masks and the other wears facepaint and both play heavy music, then they MUST be the same.

Both bands became terrible so the result likely would have been the same either way.

That's true but think how Mushroomhead feel... I think Mudvayne had a chance to be Slipknot level of success but they never capitalized on their debut album like Slipknot did when they made Iowa. Mudvayne went to shit 1 album quicker and that made all the difference in their career. But as far as this album goes, I think they get the respect they deserve for it. 18 years later, people are still talking about this album.

Yeah that's definitely true, and at least we have this album. But, I really think Mushroomhead totally ripped Slipknot off, but I could be wrong.

They were accused of that but I don't think they really did. Not sure if you listened to them much but they don't sound like Slipknot at all really, nor do their masks resemble the Slipknot masks. Also band-members wearing masks was not invented by Slipknot so the whole thing is kind of moot. But Mushroomhead also spectacularly went to shit, so all 3 bands are in good company

I have no idea what this is

"I suppose when one group wears masks and the other wears facepaint and both play heavy music, then they MUST be the same."

Lmao I remember being pissed about this as well. Some of my brothers friends would say "Oh, that Slipknot rip off?" and elementary/middle school me would just shake his head in disappointment.

Also their next album was pretty damn good. It wasn't on this level or anything, but I think you guys are underrating it.
