musicians focusing on making djent for the sake of djent always seemed to combine downtuned guitars with non-standard time sigs and have that be the sole purpose. in other words, a place where creativity went to die
nu metal musicians always seemed to have significantly more ambition in their music, even if it took a couple of albums. did it always work? no. but sometimes it did and at least there was more creativity
