No, Metal Box is clearly a post-punk album. And I'm glad that many post-punk albums have a prominent use of bass guitar, I love that instrument.
The music on Metal Box is very repetitive, reminds me of later albums like Killing Joke - What's This For (1981) and Filth and Cop era Swans.
