Sickly good album, this is a metal album I have fun listening to, and there are very few of those these days for me. Mostly it's "interesting" stuff.
I agree with all your points in this review, lyrically it's not great, but vocally without a doubt it is. Their style, while not the most varied, is a very good one. I like this album a great deal, thank you so much for recommending it to me :]

No problem. Yeah the lyrics are a bit stale but indeed a solid metal album.Code Of Honor is still probaly my favorite single of 07/08. They put up a new track on their myspace blog. A bit rushed but cool. I can't wait for a new album.

I think I like Manifesto as much as Wolves.
Rap wasn't anything great but i like the little sax solo in Fire At Will. I'm thinking 4 for this..

Deathrace might be one of my favorite songs on the album. The delayed solo and keyboard theatrics are incredible. Sabine is minimal yet powerful. The rapping section was much better than I expected it to be. Out of place? Sure but Deadlock has some balls to try it out. Fuck conformity, and I like it. Good to see the band taking some risks in their rather commercial sound.

I just listened to this in preparation for reviewing their upcoming album. Damn, it's almost like two different bands. This reminds me of Disarmonia Profundi (or however the hell it's spelled) with female vocals. Not bad even if the techno aspects are still a bit cheesy on this album.

Deadlock have been getting progressively softer and more accessible with each record. Fuck Deadlock man, bunch of lowlife sauerkraut eatin sellouts.

ha ha. I'm not sure if I like this style (and the next album which I just listened to right now) or their new one better. I really like the choruses on the new one, but the music is definitely more rock.

I've decided that Manifesto is my fav.

To Where the Skies Are Blue is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.

I like the female clean vocal sections but the techno parts seem a bit out of place.

This is awful from a lyrical standpoint. It's really tough for me to overlook the lyrics on this album; Manifesto's are worse, but these aren't a good kind of cheesy or w/e either. Spouting lines like "You faggot, You ruined the code of honor" and "Yet i think it is my Juliet story, Because you are my everything" are wonderful gems :P
Putting the usually bad wordcraft aside, I find this to be enjoyable otherwise. The vocals shared between Johannes and Sabine can sound shaky at times and even the songwriting occasionally stumbles (*cough* Losers' Ballet), but when Wolves hits, it hits. To Where the Skies Are Blue is easily a standout here.
