i think the fact that they didn't announce anything this time around is the most damning thing. they kept him off the p2 tour last summer too but were very transparent about it
...though they also didn't announce beforehand he would be returning for those festival appearances he played late last year either. maybe the crowd reaction to that was really negative? i've seen them three times post-allegations (lmao that sounds horrible) and there are ALWAYS people talking about it in the crowd before there sets.
honestly such an awkward spot to be in. allegations aside, dustie also has a pretty bad back issue that made him miss shows/entire tours even before the allegations. the dude was playing shows sitting in a chair cause he could barely move. i have to think that factor makes just firing him much more complicated if you've been friends/bandmates with the dude for multiple decades.

Honestly have tried to get into this album on-and-off for over a decade, it always winds up getting recommended to me. It just never clicked with me, I think mostly due to the vocals. Hearing them play it live today just hit different. They sounded fantastic and the crowd was wild. Might give the album another go, and I can't wait to see them again in a couple days for Colors 2

Hol up, they playing Colors front to back?? And they aint come to Atlanta??

I've seen this band like 11 times and Colors front to back I think twice and I'm old and tired and they weren't coming super close for this tour so I skipped it. Love that they're still killing it enough to win people over playing this live tho. White Walls especially always bangs so fuckin hard live.
Also Jizzsquad m/

Decade of Statues hits so hard. RIP OUT MY FUCKING EYYYYYYES
@artis
At this point idk if its worth going out of your way to try to get into it. I think for a lot of people back then this was their gateway to a lot of the more extreme metal that was out there, and a lot of seasoned listeners had a negative reaction to the attention it was getting.
~17 years later its still pretty good, but we've had a long time to sit and ponder the weird shit that they go out of their way to do on it. The best parts feel organic (White Walls, Sun of Nothing into Ants of the Sky) while other parts feel a lot less honest.
I've really started to feel like oveall the Great Misdirect did a much better job of what Colors was trying to do, but there's no denying that this album had a huge impact on the scene and their peers.

any obvious examples of bands/albums this album influenced???
prob too much btbrain rot on my end but i've always felt like the colors/tgm/parallax era of the band was pretty one of one compared to their contemporaries. (granted tgm/parallax def take a lot of cues from dream theater)
i'd go as far as too say the influence of the s/t and silent circus feels more apparent to me then anything they made after.

LMFAO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS BAND
Are American lawyers always this fucking sassy? lol
"This reason too was shocking on multiple levels..."
"After this disastrous phone call..."
Sounds like I'm reading a high schooler trying to be a lawyer
Also damn, a 7 figure amount to get rid of the bloke? That's a lot of money... Makes sense their music has gotten so much worse and uninspired

I guess if your livelihood is playing in a niche genre and it is threatened, you might get hyper-defensive and reactive?
Dustie's lawyer was literally Trump's lawyer, so with the biggest grain of salt ever, accepting that letter would mean the band abandoned him at his lowest and most vulnerable without cause. Disliking someone is a fairly regular reason to remove someone from a band, but dude owns 20% of the company like the rest and would be due compensation. As far as I saw, everyone had moved on from the accusations and he was received as well as he ever was live, so I really don't get that him being immobile could be a motivation for him removal.
Makes Tommy and Paul look pretty bad, but this is just one side's view. And really we shouldn't be seeing this, it definitely doesn't look great from Dustie.

Idk that I believe those forensics claims. All of it would have to have been faked including the screenshots (not that that’s hard) but if the screenshots were faked why wouldn’t he have said that from the start? And if they’re real, why are you essentially admitting to sex with a person online, but it’s not really them? I don’t know it doesn’t add up to me really
