I gave this album a 4, not up to par with feels but still a excellent album.

I really, really, really like this album. And pretty much everything else I've heard from this band. I'm going to see them in a few weeks.
This is, I think, on the same level as Person Pitch, which fucking rules.

Saw them tonight, fucking amazing.
From SJ they played Peacebone, Unsolved Mysteries, #1 and Fireworks.
I also got to meet Avey and Geologist after the show. Avey drew me a picture on a post it note, I feel so honoured. Really down to earth guys though.

Peacebone, For Reverend Green, and Derek are all superb tracks. There is maybe one song I didn't like on this album. Imho this is right up there with Feels.

I bought Here Comes The Indian (My First Animal Collective Cd) 2 weeks ago. I listen to it practically everyday.
What Cd should I buy next?

This is my first Animal Collective album and it's a bit... meh.
Neither here nor there for me...

I would suggest getting Feels first. It is much more poppy and easy to get into. At least that is what I am assuming, not having listened to this album fully yet.

The last track has a great name.

For Reverend Green gives me this really good feeling in my stomach. Weird.
This album is very inconsistent in terms of quality songs. There are really good songs and really bad songs.
My god the second half of the album is amazing. This Message Edited On 09.25.07

First I've ever heard of this band- incredible stuff!

Great review, I saw these guys perform #1 on Conan and I thought it was pretty interesting. Definitely going to look into this.

I absolutely love this album. Peacebone and For Reverend Green are powerful, and at times, irresistible, beautiful songs. Fireworks and #1 are some 'intermissions' in the album that don't fail to trip you out every time.
This whole album is very well-rounded. It captures, if not perfectly, about all the different moods Animal Collective can dish out on one album.
Their best right next to Feels.

I agree with what you said. Reverend Green is so intense, Cuckoo Cuckoo is also probably one of the most intense songs I have ever heard, with those blasts of noise. Gotta disgree about Fireworks being an intermission though, best track on the album. Derek is also beautiful.

Fireworks is the most culturally cooperative track (though that may never truly apply to an AC song)
