I respect bands that step out of there safety zones and try something new. I found this album to be quite enjoyable

Well, you and I are in the minority when it comes to this album. No one has to worry anymore anyway, because they broke up.

This is an okay album, I was hoping they would go back to the style Of OLAL, but they broke up a while ago.
I think they posted a few unreleased songs a couple months ago though.

"On their last album they didn't have a unique sound, they had a rare unique element or two but that was it."
You could argue that, but I found their first cd a lot more enjoyable than this.

Agree with you ese. This blows.

Apart from Stay Captive and the intro to Wax Walls this is pretty bad.
Massive disappointment following the massive 'Of Love and Lunacy'.

You could argue that, but I found their first cd a lot more enjoyable than this. Most people seemed to find the first CD more enjoyable (and I liked it too), but it definitely wasn't anything new. I don't know what it is about this album that made me like it when no one else does.

This album is completely uninspired

"Uninspired" seems to be a good buzzword to use when someone is listening to something they don't like. I'm sure I'm guilty of it too, but how can you really know if an artist was inspired or not?

Well compared to the last record this kind of falls on it's face.
what the hell is your pic?

I found it on some wallpaper website. The original dimensions of it are 1900x1200 or something like that (Whatever the default 24" iMac desktop size is).

Zombie or corpse painted chick with big rack?

Corpse painted chick with big rack, I guess. I prefer to think she could be cleaned up, at least, instead of being some brains-eating zombie chick.

Well obviously I can't know for sure, but listening to OLAL and then this it almost seems that when it came time to recording it, they just ran into the studio, hit the record button and started jamming, and the cd is the result of that.
The heavier tracks on this album seems like another band trying to rip of SR, not SR themselves.
To me (and just it's my opinion) it seems as if the boys put in a HUGE rush job on this album, played and recorded the first thing that popped into their heads, thus not really inspired to make a really good album.
If they had spent a decent amount of time on the songs this could've been something really good.

good album

I remember a few years back when this album was getting released I really wanted to get it, but I unfortunately didn't have the money. I had listened to the 2 released singles and thought these guys were very good but I had never gotten around to buying it. Now, though, I have the album and bitterly regret not having got it earlier. I think it is a very good album, not perfect, but I love it nonetheless. I'm always playing it on my MP3 player. This is coming from someone who hadn't heard of Still Remains until 'Stay Captive' got released. I'm a fan of metal (particularly hybrids of metal/pop) so fits perfectly with the sort of music I like.

There's definitely a market for this band and this album -- it's just not the average SpuntikMusic metalhead. Anyway, stick around and you may find a lot of other things that are better than this.

Still Remains almost completely sheds their metalcore stereotypes and tries for a fuller, more mature sound. Have you even heard this album? Besides, is this what mature sounding music is like? Yeesh.
