Stylistically I don't think the music is anything special, and the lyrics took a dive

no offense as clearly you enjoy In Absentia, but its probably bottom two PT for me

To be honest the lyrics have always been sub-par with SW.

Also, In Absentia isn't even in my top 5 PT albums. I like it but I think it's weaker than most of their other albums.

Deadwing is my favorite of the newer style but on Deadwing (song) the lyrics are fucking horrible

Typical PT lyrics:

X-box is a god to me

A finger on the switch

My mother is a bitch

My father gave up ever trying to talk to me

Not really good, is it.

Can't disagree with that. I really enjoy the lyrics of Nine Cats too.

rhymes good doesnt it? kidding but wilson prolly aimed for commercial success with those rather than on his previous works like stupid dream and lightbulb sun (post In absentia is where the decline began). basically his best lyrics and works were pre-in absentia

man fuck yea his lyrics suck in half his albums

Yeah. I really like SW, but his lyrics are terrible most of the time.

I don't like him any less because of that, though.

Glad you liked it.

I thought it was fantastic. One of his best works. I was going to give it a 5 but I already 5ed his other album, Insurgentes, which is much better imo.

I dl most stuff then buy cds if I think they are good enough, because of stereos, cars, etc.
