got their best two ahead whoop whoop
tbh i kinda feel the same way as you about repeater, would probs pinpoint this as the moment they got Gud at albums but red medicine takes it several steps further

argument is my fav by a whole lot but as far as their more typical approach goes i’d prob still give it to red medicine. end hits also underrated

Repeater was their best so far, I thought. Certainly has the best of their ideas up to now

Have finally started my Fugazi journey with this puppy (per Doof's recommendation - take it up with him if you disagree on this as a starting point ;-P ). It's slowly growing on me after a week and change of mostly daily spins; my thoughts are generally positive at this point, although I do find it decently frontloaded with the first 5 or so tracks containing most of the strongest songwriting (from what I can tell this seems to be a pretty typical take, though feel free to tell me which tracks in the back half I am overlooking). Still haven't quite settled my opinion on this but overall I'd consider it a pretty auspicious start and I look forward to exploring the discography further; likely will go to Repeater next, or possibly Red Medicine. Popular wisdom suggests The Argument will most likely land as my favorite but I think I want to hold out on that one until I have a decent sense of what they did before.

I hadn't even gotten to the end of your comment and had already decided The Argument was / would be your favourite, lol
Red Med is peak 'gazi for me. There's a fair amount of variation in what people prefer / rankings. Sign of a good band I suppose.

I bet if we took a consensus vote between all users, there'd be some varied responses for sure. I'd almost be tempted to say we might actually get every single feasible combo, especially if we only include LPs (otherwise people will do a z00sh and say the above - they'll just have to make do with 13 Songs).

Red med second worst [2]
End hits
This
Argument
Repeater
Red med
Steady diet

you see we already have an End Hits truther
I'd go... Red Med, Argument, Kill Taker, Repeater, (13 Songs), End Hits, Steady Diet
S/T EP would jump above Repeater, Margin Walker in the same place as 13 Songs

Bookends on this one are excellent. Tracks 3 to 6 don’t do much for me tbh…
