this band is way too pretentious and generic for its own good. oh and for anyone who tries to argue theres some 'deep and artistic' meaning behind the song names..

Interview between cantstopthesound.net & The Devil Wears Prada

November 10th, 2007

Q: "Are there any meaning behind the song titles?"

Jeremy DePoyster: "We're stupid. We're immature. We have a song called 'Number 3, Never Forget", its about Dale Earnhardt..the song name, not the lyrics. I don't know, its just stupid stuff. Every body is like 'i bet this song is about blah blah.' No. We're just stupid."

very good review though, i enjoyed it.

Hey John Whats Your Name Again is a very guilty pleasure of mine and i will deny that i thoroughly enjoy it til the day i die. Other than that this is straight up generic music with occasional migraine-inducing screams. 2 is a rather fair statement of this albums musical worth

Thats the thing with most of these newer metalcore bands. They just fail miserbaly because its all the same - generic, mediocre and bland.

while you're all expressing your opinions on this band (whether good or bad) they're making money playing easy music.

for that i commend them.

We have enough like you coming around every few weeks or so expressing your opinion that is barely backed up. It may have truth in it, but it's not enough to convince anyone that this band is good.

You said it for yourself that they are making money playing easy music, but wouldn't you think that people who have talent should be making that money?

Regardless, you have your opinion and that's fine, but i highly disagree. You commending them and giving them a 5 is so far from being justified as well. This Message Edited On 05.24.08

1 or a 2...really?

From what i can tell from your profile you don't listen to a single metalcore band and you try to review metalcore albums?

I actually really liked this album, tho it got boring pretty fast.

Its not big, or clever, or original...but its fun and full of passion and energy. People are always bad-mouthing these kind of generic metalcore bands, but some do serve a purpose...albiet not a high one.

I like this band. So what? Because I like this band I know nothing about "good" music? Music isn't about being "good/bad". You can't really judge if a band is good or bad because music is all personal preference and opinion. Saying a band is "bad" really says nothing about the actual band, rather just your opinion of the band. Also the fact that this site leans more towards progressive music (The Mars Volta, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Coheed & Cambria) obviously this kind of music will not appeal to the general population of Sputnik. I, personally do not have a thing for progressive. Does that mean that I think Opeth or any of the others are bad? No, personally I don't mind Opeth's sound (as is the case with many progressive bands), I just dislike the fact that many of their songs are 10 minutes long and are totally different from start to finish. I don't see how that would mean I have any less knowledge of music than anyone else. Do you have the right to dislike this band? For sure, just as I have a right to dislike the bands I do. When you say things like "this band is very generic" or even "the screaming is awesome", those statements are not facts, they are opinion. The type of music you enjoy does not signify how much knowledge of music you have.

^^^ Listen to this guy rant. This album is not good at all, especially to the ears. Goodbye Sally, hope you get well and hope to see you soon.

or maybe if you got the cauliflower out of your ears, you could hear the generic metalcore better.
