To me, Pearl Jam is what grunge as a whole sounds like. They certainly weren't the best grunge band, and they were far from the worst, they were just a middle-of-the-road, competent band that occasionally wrote very good, catchy songs but mostly just served as a kind of default representation of the scene they were a part of. And that's what MtB is, just kind of the sound of 2000s guitar rock all blended together into a palatable but unremarkable slurry (for me at least, clearly many of you feel differently).





...Burying Luck is pretty great though.

Menos is a great album but I'm always surprised whenever people say it's their best.

I've always found POI to be their best. They don't have any bad records, but POI is consistently fantastic.
