i think the problem for mae with this follow up album (much like damiera) was that everyone was expecting the previous album pt.1. this album is a completely different piece of work and needs to be listened to in that context, its a set of different sounds and a different direction for the band, idont think it was as terrible as most people make it out to be. i still only gave it a 2.5 though :p

Awesome album. I'd give it a 4-4.5 had The Everglow not been so damn perfect. MUCH better than people give it credit for. Mae is one heck of an awesome band

This album is not as bad as it is made out to be. Also to be noted, Just Let Go is one of Mae's best tracks.

what the actual fuck? i have enjoyed their first 2 albums for a while. this album got a rave review on allmusic, saying its a big step up from everglow. this is basically shit

I actually created an account just so I could say I think you're all insane. I think unreservedly that the Everglow and Singularity are both so genius and singular. The melodies and flow of every song (except I didn't love the first song of the Everglow, but I didn't hate it) are so beautiful and transcendent of any human pettiness, and the lyrics are so fitting.

The dirty things Howard Benson does to bands! He totally ruined this one.

So when we getting a new album. It looks like these guys are still together? But holy crap, I just realized this album is 10 years old.
