"That song is literally 7 minutes of hertas"

Something tells me you're a Bill Burr fan lol. Hard to say if it's 7 minutes of hertahertas or djundadjuns

Lol. I’ve heard him talk about shug, but nah I’m just a drummer

By the way, goes without saying I’m not shitting on Bleed. But they have way better songs

Bleed's just the one I remember most, the rest just kinda blends in too much. It feels like just a focus on "heaviness" without the humanity, catchiness or memorability that compels me to keep staying.

venin check Spasm. Probably their most melodic track.

It also sounds like you’re settled on not seeing the band at a different light venin

Nothing is arguably their best album though.

i've settled into respecting their influence but not liking the completely inhuman, robotic feeling I get. Nothing felt like it was 11 of the same exact song, like I had accidentally put on Stengah on repeat sound-wise but the scrobbles tell me I actually heard the whole thing.

There are definitely albums that you unfortunately need to be in the right headspace in to appreciate. Usually something active like driving or biking. A7X is also kind of like that, you can't just listen to them in a chair at home and fully fall in love with them. Some bands need to be soundtracks to your life to be good.

@Tranta: that's fair tbh. I just get BORED listening to this it's like if I want to sit in my room and contemplate things, something like Mirror Reaper would get the job done way more than this.

I can workout to this and doing activities like so can help connect with records

I'm almost never in the headspace needed for an album like this. I feel like I have to listen super intently to find the nuances because if I background listen, it all sounds the same due to the largely robotic, mechanical, amelodic approach. It feels clinical in the way a lot of people would say about say, Sleep Token.

Best to do a lobotomy on veninblazer and reset his headspace to Meshuggah.

tbh even if i did lift i have plenty of go-tos for that vibe. and its not even really about lyrics bc i can barely understand what the average Neurosis (pre-HFID) or Isis album is about but I love them bc the backing just fits my usual vibe better.
