Oh well, I need to do that every now and then

beethoven's 9th is cool because it's actually as good as people think it is
it's not my pick for greatest musical work of all time but it would be a respectable one
|
| |
My initial thoughts were: "Wow, this is even longer than Tschaikowsky's 6. symphony. This will need some time to sink in."
And that's probably true.

I believe it was called MX back in the day iirc, although I didn't know MX was that old either.

^ It was called MXtabs, and its focus was on... well, tabs. But people also posted reviews on there back then with the affiliate site MusicianForums, which is why you still see pre-2005 reviews on the site today (though they're usually dated for 2005)

I am more educated in opera. The Barber of Seville, The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni and Rigoletto are my loves. My knowledge of symphonies is currently just poor.

Maybe I'll do a serious one and we can have two Beethoven reviews on the front page!
Actually, I don't think I've ever done a classical review on here before. I reviewed a Yanni album back in 2015, but that's more of a "crossover" classical record than anything
