Source - Breathless are quality, active before Slowdive, released two great albums late 80s with a Cure influence, then more shoegaze/alt rock in the 90s, but also released an album in both the 00s and 10s. Their last double album from 2012 is incredible.
Unique vocals, a bit of an XX lisp in there that really grows on you (hopefully).
Can't recommend the band enough - took a whole to grow on me though.

Omg Doof I already love them, just from the first few minutes of Blue Moon. That very high bass in combination with the synth/guitar washes is amazing. Vox rule and that drum sound is to die for.
Why did the 90s have such a fantastic ear for drum production? When did we loose that?
