I'm with tribestros- I was thinking it was gonna be a carbon copy of their last two records (both of which, I'm sure we can all agree, were really dissapointing save a few songs).

But they've really changed their sound for the better- finally made a record that is intentionally "new and different" and pulled it off.

One of my fave records of the year thus far.

Hmm. Korn did this again: another great release, although I don't think this album is a breakthrough 'cause their industrial influences were also visible in their previous cd. For me, only Life Is Peachy and Take A Look In The Mirror were disappointing.

BTW excellent review. Glad I'm not alone. This Message Edited On 07.31.07

So do I. I think it's their best release since Untouchables, wihout achieving to be as good as Issues. Far better than TALITM and SYOTOS, even if the last one was not so bad after all.

It is their best release since Life is Peachy. Korn hasn't been a solid band since Life is Peachy.

I bought this album today (technically yesterday now), obviously because I've always been a huge Korn fan. But considering the fact that I have always been heavily been influenced by bands like Korn, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, as well as a variety of other bands from other genres, I have to say this album really is a masterpiece. Not just as a Korn album, but as a contribution to all music. There is such variety and depth, and the lyrics are definately the best Jon's had to offer in a long time. So yeah, I love it.This Message Edited On 08.01.07

Good review! You spelled Jonathan Davis' name wrong, but other than that, was very well written. You stated your points well.

Everybody tries to add a fucking 'h' in my name too. (which is Jonathan) It is just something you have to get used to.

Honestly, this album wasn't to bad to me, but Love and Luxury was probably one of the worst Korn songs I've ever heard. Now on the other hand songs like Killing, Hold On, and Sing Sorrow were pretty good and also a few others that didn't seem like disappointments.

Great review dude. I never heard this album, because their lead single sucked, but this review was very convincing. Dug up my old Korn albums and popped them in today, and it was a very nostalgic and warm listen. See You On the Other Side has to be on their best albums, while Untouchables is their worst.

But I do have one problem with the review. It says SYOTOS sucks. Dude that album is good, maybe you should listen to it. But TALITM does suck huge nuts.
