Yeah, I really like the math-rock aspect of it. Makes the listen interesting. If they had a more powerful vocalist I'd probably like this more.

BTBAM is good but they don't put out releases that do this for me. The only this close is the ending of "Selkies...," but if they made an album of all power ballad solos, it'd just be Dragonforce, so it'd suck. This release satisfies something else. Keep in mind there's also DEP, American Steel, Co&Ca, maybe Thrice.

I have a few tracks from this on a demo they released. The production doesn't sound too bad but the vocals are buried beneath the instruments.
New Ruins is decidedly less impressive than the tracks I've got from this, making me want the album more and more.

This album is excellent through and through. May become one of my favorites this year, but I don't see any band topping Planet Of Ice for me as my top pick of 2007.
