Heard this once but it did literally nothing for me, should probably give this another chance just to let it sink in but i'm not expecting much.

outside of the poor production and a couple duds I honestly think this album gets too much hate. then again, it was my first exposure to the Pumpkins, so nostalgia could be making me biased

Bits of disrespectful animated series of triple crown court to the goth community.

it's easily to look back on this at least somewhat fondly given it was Jimmy Chamberlin's last recorded studio work with Billy to date

Not that bad of an album. Worst aspect is that in parts it sounds like a rather generic hard rock album, not the varied, multi-pronged Pumpkins. A bit one note. But it’s fairly well done as a whole.

I would say it’s their worst album, but as of right now, Monuments holds that “honor”. Save for Tiberius, which I love, and to a lesser extent Being Beige, I don’t think I really liked that album at all. That said, I haven’t listened to it since it came out so I’m gonna give it another shot in the next few days. My overall impression from before? Too slight, forgettable and inconsequential.

The best thing about this is Corgan's unique lead-guitarisms over Chamberlin's amazing drum work - that alone is what has me ever coming back to this one over say, Machina or SD

Corgan just about stopped trying altogether with his vocals here, and yet they're the loudest thing in the mix because that's the "modern way" (his words) - even so, the actual songs truly aren't bad at all. Lyrics to Neverlost are just about as affecting and heartfelt as anything from the last two SP1 albums, it's just that his delivery doesn't always come off quite as sincere

The vocals are probably at their worst here yeah, but there are still some true gems to behold

I agree, notice I said last two SP 1 albums (Adore & Machina)

It was a compliment, not an insult, lol

Album gets too much hate, it's still loads better than Monuments, Shiny and most of Machina. The mixing and production is terrible and the songs aren't up to the level of the old Pumpkins, but it's a great rock record with stellar drums and guitar work in almost every track.
