i'm thinking of buying Toxcity..
i only knew about system when steal this album came out..
I can't believe you didn't hear of SOAD when Toxicity came out. Chop Suey! and Toxicity were all over the radio/T.V.

dude i live in singapore
this country aint promote much rock music man

All are good, this album is my second fav. after the self titled, Toxicity for me only gets stronger towards the end, the rest feels weak.
no, Serj Tankian plays the acoustic guitar on that song :thumb:
Well there are two guitars in that song so it's possible for both to be playing because with that little mini solo you have the original intro/verse in the background.

I bought the album right after it came out, and was really disappointed. I think I gave it away to someone who would enjoy it more then I did. Other then a couple standout tracks, it didn't seem to shine like their previous two albums.

Also for you System fans or you curious people. www.Systemofadownonline.com is a great site. With song meanings and updates on their album and sideprojects. They don't update much though but it's always good to check.

Did anyone hear about that Axis of Justice DVD? Apparently it has a cover of U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name" on it, with Serj and Maynard from Tool on vocals, Tom Morello on guitar, Flea on bass, and Brad Wilk (from RATM) on drums. Is that not one of the greatest combinations ever? I know nothing compares to Bono's voice or Edge's guitar, but this combo should at least be interesting to hear.
|

That really would be interesting to hear. Any idea of a release date for the DVD?

Election day; first tuesday in November.

Great review. I agree with everything. People kinda brush this album off as "a B-side" album, but there are some great tracks. The only thing I disagree with is your ratings of "Highway Song" and "Thetawaves," beautiful songs in my opinion.
|
| |
"Highway Song" is my favorite on that album. In fact, it's probably my second pick for "song to listen to while driving down a lonely road at night," with "1979" by Smashing Pumpkins as the obvious first choice.

I can't believe you people actually like the crap that comes out of soad. They are nothing but a bunch of B**** *** little political morons who think they are hardcore and funny at the same time. And Steal This Album is the worst out of the three (If that's possible, the band suck period). Only little jr high and high school punks listen to soad. Get a life people- listen to some real harcore and metal.

Coming from a Breaking Benjamin fan...

Actually, coming from a fan of unearth, lamb of god, atreyu, chimaira, vehemence, kataklysm, dimmu borgir, eighteen visions, 36 crazyfists, and a lot of other s*** thats far better than soad.

Breaking Benjamin as well though.
I'm not a great fan of SOAD, but I'd take them over Dimmu Borgir, Lamb of God, 36 Crazyfists, Chimaira and Atreyu any day.
|
| |
And Eighteen Visions.
|
| |
Ha ha, stupid metal elitist.
|
| |
Hey, there's nothing wrong with Breaking Benjamin, dammit
Nor Lamb of God for that matter.
|
| |
amazing how quick people are to criticise good music listed by a person- once that person says they don't like a certain band, i.e., soad. The fact that I don't like soad doesnt make atreyu or eighteen visions music without talent.
or breaking benjamin or lamb of god
