well seeing as spiderland is a complete classic in every sense of the word, I can't blame this record.

to me this is sort of slow, brooding atmospheric rock music with a tint of jazz to it. spiderland is just so disturbed and inhuman

sounding to me, its sound is cinematic and every thing feels connected to me. i don't really get quite that effect with talk talk

ive never really put spiderland together, though ive tried. i always like it slightly less than everyone else. this, however, is one of the smartest, most brilliant albums ive ever heard

Talk Talk and Bark Psychosis both destroy Slint.

If you guys haven't heard Mark Hollis' solo album, definitely check it out. A lot of it sounds like Laughing Stock b-sides, and that's saying a lot.

The most staggering thing is how good Codename is, after what, like 10+ yrs since Hex? That said, Hex will always be their best. One of the most unique bands ever, imo.

Bark basically picked up the flag where Laughing Stock left off, although they have a decidedly more ominous tone. They even used Talk Talk's percussionist for their 3rd LP.

It's like an outdoor concert event of has-been rockers after their prime, but much less boring. And much more innovative

This album finally clicked with me within this last month. It's incredible. I'd only listened to it once or twice before, but now I can't stop.
