Mental. I saw they were sequential yet didn’t actually notice. What a crazy fella Coltrane must have been.
Oh, apparently he died of liver failure in 1967!

absolutely one of the biggest losses in music given that he was on another level right before his passing.

Such a (relatively) short career and he didn't waste a single second of it. Probably my single favorite artist of all time.

Definitely one of the best to ever play a note. He had universes inside of him.

Just dipping my toes into this stuff... I listen to quite a few oddments in music" and find something to enjoy in each one. Hoping this sticks somehow but it's s bit too chaotic on first approach. Going to stick with it a few more times

Check out this list I made, might help ease you into some less chaotic stuff before approaching work like MEDITATIONS or ASCENSION etc.:

@nash
Not sure how much free jazz you (have) listen(ed) to, but you might try a few slightly tamer offerings before getting after thinks like MEDITATIONS or ASCENSION.
Here's a list I put together a while ago (and finally published and thus have been shoving in everyone's face every chance I get) for some free jazz recs, try some of the ones in the first two tiers and see what you think:
