"Zurich" is king of Slanted for me, and my all-time favorite song shorter than 2 mins
Hated "Conduit" at first but it proved a massive grower in time; still not sure if it's an album highlight for me due to the sheer number of quality tunes on offer

this band just leaked the primavera sound lineup 11 hours early and then deleted it lmao that slacker ethic

This is a fun jam, definitely one of those "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" sort of albums, and I usually have a bit of a hard time with those, and definitely not everything here sticks, but a lot does. Only a few spins in but I'd say I like it more than Slanted but definitely not as much as Crooked Rain.

For me it’s def not as great as either of the first two and ‘Brighten’ might also be stronger - maybe this and ‘Brighten’ are level pegging

I get a sneaky feeling ‘Brighten’ will be your second fave Boney

Interesting, I've read that one's more a spiritual follow-up to Crooked Rain than this is so you could be right.
My early take on this is it's definitely one of those cases where if you trimmed the 6 or so weakest bits you'd be left with a much tighter and consistent overall listen, but I can see the scrappy appeal of this as well - just not sure it appeals to me personally as much as it may others.

Yeah the scrappiness of this (and Slanted) is key to the appeal for me, Crooked is maybe a smidge too smooth by comparison though it is still excellent

I remember Doof bashing it a bit in another thread but "We Dance" is really great.
"Pueblo" is another fave of mine, I haven't seen many people talking about that one though.
