just got it in the mail yesterday. took about a week in a half to get it. i love the packaging and the artwork. i cant believe they were giving it away for free. such a beautiful album, i listened to it during a long drive to a wedding. its really moving. i have a feeling that the more i listen to it, it will soon be a 5/5. im definitely going to buy it on itunes to support. i hope they will play some shows down here in so. cal

At moments yes. It's more that this release is comparable to some particular emo releases. Listen to Circle Takes the Square's As the Roots Undo or anything by City of Caterpillar. That should give you an idea of similar stuff.

If I didn't like "As the Roots Undo" is there any chance that I will enjoy this?

Yes, definitely. It's a lot closer to Kayo Dot or Tartar Lamb alot of the time,(or as Nick said City of Caterpillar) and the metal influence on this band is more.. pure. Not as thrashy as with CTTS.This Message Edited On 06.26.07

They don't sound like Circle Takes the Square at all. Even similarities to Kayo Dot and such are minimal.

I'm thinking more in terms of aesthetic and quality rather than genre or immediate characteristics. It's sort of like they all share the same x-factor.

that definitely happens to me too sometimes, but then i relisten to all tracks and realize "the tragedy" beats it by a bit.

It's a shame he doesn't sing more throughout the album, he's got a pretty cool voice.

I just got the album yesterday! I will listen to it fully later tonight. The first half is pretty damn good, though.
