my fav local live band has a song that's two chords and a song that's one chord. although they're so funky and danceable that it's probably a different situation but yes I def agree two chords can be enough (it better be if I have this 4.5'd and "visiting friends" is 12 minutes long)
when I was in a band one of my songs was just G major 7 D major 7 for like five minutes until I throw in an A minor

as "focused" as the presentation for music like this can be, this certainly seems more focused than their previous two albums of similar stylings. plus there are a lot of more interesting ideas and effects laden throughout here too
