oh and I do not think they tried to recreate the greatness in Aenima, at all. It's actually quite different.

I disagree strongly with you. overated? maybe...to me its just THAT good. When i first got this album i absolutley hated it....it then grew to be my favorite album....and yeah its nothing like aenima.

i can't help it, i think it's just a great work of art and one of my few all-time favorite albums. 'just hate when people critisize an album that is in fact really great, just because they don't get it, and then say the band is overrated as an excuse.

btw seems like many of the world's half-apes are located at PitchForkMedia; one braindead reviewer has obviously lost touch with reality on the Lateralus-review.

Sometimes its fun to watch Tool fans clash with non-Tool fans.

the whole comment was retarded, not to mention the tasteless stab at pitchfork.

Well, pitchfork is pretty queer, tbh

Do you think Maynard James Keenan came up with the name Tool knowing all of his fans (excluding Ryan Flatley) would be tools?

this album is so beyond me, i guess that's why i dont worship it. why is Tool so over-evolved?

I think Aenima is better than Lateralus.

*gasp* What happened to Med's review of this? It was probably the best anti-Lateralus one I've seen.

Meh.... i like this CD. but it is overrated, i will also agree that tool fans have trouble being objective about the music they listen to .

best songs on here are lateralus, parabol/parabola,reflection and the grudge.

Good review too.

This is like Mars Volta's first two albums. The first one was more straight-forward and the other had much more ambience. Some are going to like the more straight-forward AEnima and others are going to appreciate Lateralus more. Some will love/hate both. Not much use in arguing about it. In fact if it weren't for the drumming, I might not like this album as much either.

Well, this was a good review; you back up your points and everything but I still don't think the band are overrated and I certainly think this album deserves all the positive recognition it gets.

By the way, whoever said Isis are "boringer" than Tool...

Seriously; what the hell?!

I believe you're thinking of his 10,000 Days review, which is still up.

I didin't really like this album at first and thought that Aenima owned it but as time went on it grew on me and now it's definetely one of my faves. Nice review though, a couple months ago i probably felt the same way..
