His voice sure is an aquired taste, but I've listened to this 3 times now, and it's gotten better everytime. I picked it up not hearing anything by him before other than a few songs from his new album, but I think this was a good pickup. Got it cheap too, only 7 bucks. This Message Edited On 12.27.06

This is really a 5/5. Like really really. Tange Till They're Sore is one of the best songs ever. So is Rain Dogs and Jockey Full of Bourbon and Walking Spanish and several others.

This album is ridiculously good. It took some time to grow on me, but now it's festering all over my body.

I was very close to buying this. The amount of tracks intimidated me.

That happens to me whenever I debate buying an album with a lot of tracks. Don't let that scare you away though, this album is entirely excellent.

Yeah, I'll definitely be getting this. It's also only 7 bucks, so that's sweet.

Anyone else notice how much I post beneath myself?

Anyways, got this today and I'm pleased. The large amount of tracks doesn't bug me because it's not long.

When the first track came on I was like; Shit, this is going to suck, but as the album progressed I started liking his odd vocals.

I like how he put some more obscure types of music in this.

I've been wanting to get into Tom Wait's music. What should be the first album I listen to?

I've only heard three of his but this and Bone Machine are both excellent.

Anyone know if Tom made up the phrase "rain dogs"?

ok so I have had a lot of Tom Waits thrown at me, and I really just couldn't get into it at all. Rain Dogs, for anyone, should be the starting point because it's when his voice is at his absolute best and it's just a fucking solid record.
